Technology for Ohio’s Tomorrow Hosts “The Future of Broadband Technology” Panel Discussion

The Future of Braodband Technology panel discussion took place on July 13th, 2011, at 2-3:30 p.m. at The Ohio Chamber of Commerce, 230 East Town Street, Columbus, OH 43215. Panelist participants include The Ohio Department of Jobs and Family Services, Bluemile, TekOrange, IQity and the Ohio Chamber of Commerce.

On July 13th, Technology for Ohio’s Tomorrow (TOT) hosted a panel discussion addressing the importance of supporting growth and innovation in Ohio telecommunications and broadband and continuing to create policies that incentivize private sector investment. The panel titled the “The Future of Broadband Technology” takes a critical look at what advancements in broadband and mobile technologies mean to Ohio businesses and consumers, and what the future is for these technologies. Furthermore, the event addresses the current broadband atmosphere in Ohio, including how the AT&T and T-Mobile merger will positively impact access for consumers. The panel featured industries and companies that most significantly benefit from broadband and talk about what the future of these industries and companies look like with better, faster access. This dialogue with residents and organizations in Columbus was held to determine how best to bring the benefits of broadband to them.
